Interphase Audio Helium 500 is a 4-band hybrid EQ that blends capacitor-based EQ circuits and filters with inductor-based EQ circuits for a rich, musical response. It combines the best of our Carbon and Iridium EQ designs and adds extra filter circuits for greater flexibility.
In addition, Helium uses a full Class-A, discrete design. We carefully select and match every component to help deliver a smooth and highly musical sound. As a result, Helium offers a distinctive character that sets it apart from standard EQ units. This is not a clone or copy. At Interphase Audio, we design original products with their own sound and purpose.
Helium gives you four bands with wide overlapping frequency ranges, so you can shape tone with precision. Therefore, you can use it to reduce troublesome frequencies or add extra presence where needed. The HF and LF bands work in two ways: you can use them as bell-shaped EQ bands or switch them to HI-Cut and Lo-Cut filters. Each band provides up to 15 dB of boost or cut, giving you plenty of control for both subtle shaping and more dramatic moves.
Moreover, Helium delivers straightforward operation and excellent sound quality. It suits engineers and producers who want musical EQ results without unnecessary complexity. Helium is also available in a 500-series format, making it a strong choice for modular studio setups.
Compatibility note: Helium 500 works only in the Octa Rack 500. The standard Helium is also available as an Octa module, and it fits the Octa Rack.
