The Lauten Audio Clarion FC-357

is a solid-state FET multi-pattern large diaphragm condenser microphone. This microphone is for recordists looking for a unique and modern FET sound. It offers a full and rich low and mid-range as well as smooth and unique high mid and high frequencies. This microphone has class-A electronics and a 28.25mm dual-diaphragm capsule capable of omnidirectional, cardioid and figure-8 polar patterns. The microphone also features a -10dB pad and +10 gain switches. The Lauten Audio Clarion FC-357 is built with extreme attention to detail. A BETTER CLASSIC CAPSULE

Our custom designed 35mm capsule is hand-tuned to deliver vintage sound with just the right amount of air. This dual diaphragm design captures sounds with depth, realism and exceptional transient response.

PREMIUM COMPONENTS

The Clarion signal path is populated with high resolution, low distortion polypropylene capacitors, a US made low-noise FET, and a custom wound output transformer that puts the finishing touches on every sound that passes through it’s copper windings.

FINISHING TOUCHES

After being hand-polished, the Clarion’s solid brass enclosure is hand finished with a durable, non-toxic ceramic coating and baked in an oven for curing before final assembly, burn-in, and testing.

THREE WAY GAIN STAGING

• +10dB is ideal for use with quiet sound sources and consumer-grade audio interfaces.
• 0dB sets the output of the Clarion to its default output gain selection.
• -10dB is useful when more color and saturation from a high-end preamp is desired.

HARMONIC SOUND SHAPING

OFF

Allows the full frequency spectrum of a sound to be passed directly to the Multi-Voicing circuitry for maximum density and harmonic saturation.

SOFT

Gently reduces murkiness and any overbearing low frequencies. This is powerful when used with the Gentle selection to attain a truly vintage microphone experience.

HARD

Shifts the timbre of the microphone towards the mid-range, adding focus, accentuation and articulation and is ideal for use with the Forward selection for modern pop and R&B vocals.
