Interphase Audio EQ 8: Modular Rackmount EQ with Silky Smooth Colour

The Interphase Audio EQ 8 brings the character of the Ark console into a rackmount format. If you want the same smooth, musical colour in a dedicated unit, the EQ 8 gives you that sound with precise control.

It uses eight IP211 modules, so you get the full Ark EQ experience in a 6U 19-inch rack. Each IP211 module includes a 4-band inductive equaliser, a Hi-Cut filter, a Lo-Cut filter, and Swing EQ. As a result, you can shape tracks with warmth, detail, and plenty of flexibility.

Because the Ark is an inline console, each module works on two audio paths. You can switch every EQ section between the “A” and “B” path, which the Ark8 console labels as Large Fader and Small Fader. This gives you more routing options and makes the EQ 8 highly adaptable in any studio setup.

Fully modular

The EQ 8 is fully modular, so each channel gives you two inputs, two outputs, and two audio paths. In total, that means the unit provides 16 I/O across eight channels. Moreover, each channel includes four EQ sections that you can use independently or combine for more aggressive shaping.

If you need subtle enhancement, the EQ 8 delivers smooth results with ease. If you need heavier tone shaping, you can combine the sections for more extreme EQ work. Either way, the design gives you control without sacrificing musicality.

The EQ 8 is built to order, just like the EQ 2.2. The EQ 2.2 uses two IP211 modules in a compact 2U rack, while the Interphase Audio EQ 8 expands that concept to eight modules in a larger 6U format. Therefore, both units offer the same core EQ character in different sizes for different studio needs.

In short, the EQ 8 gives you eight channels, two audio paths per channel, and four EQ sections per channel. It combines flexible routing with the smooth, colourful sound the Ark EQ is known for.
