ASP4816 is a small format analogue console from legendary designer David Dearden. Building on the success of its bigger brother the ASP8024-HE, the ASP4816 delivers incredible functionality in a smaller footprint, perfectly suited for both professional and project studios alike.
Providing a versatile array of connectivity, signal conditioning, routing, summing, processing and monitoring capability the ASP4816 will quickly adapt to become the centre of your creative workflow.
The professional sound you deserve. We are the only company that use the same Class-A mic pre design throughout our entire product range, whether you’re in the studio with the ASP4816 or on the road with iD14, you’re always guaranteed the same world class Audient sound.
Flexible, powerful, musical. The incredibly flexible, Dearden designed EQ offers two fully parametric bands that span from 40Hz to 20kHz, offering a powerful and punchy sound. These are flanked by low and high shelving EQ bands (with a minimal signal path) that are perfect for adding weight and air to your source and when combined with the parametric EQ, make for the ultimate sculpting tool. Don’t forget, you can really take advantage of the EQ as it can be split across both the short and long faders, making us one of the only companies to offer this unique feature.
Make light work of your mixes. Based on technology from the 80s and 90s the ASP4816’s mix bus compressor is known for adding a rock and roll dynamic to your mix. Often likened to classic analogue boards, the ASP4816’s mix bus compressor provides that classic VCA ‘glue’ that will give your mix that ‘sounds like a record’ feeling.
The complete monitoring solution. Our fully featured monitor control section offers full artist communication, talkback control, powerful source selection and loud speaker control with a short passive signal path for incredibly clear and accurate monitoring.
The heart of your studio. With an impressive array of connectivity options the ASP4816 offers the versatility of a large format console in a smaller footprint. Whether you're bringing in your D/A outputs, effects returns and other line sources, or using the buses to record 16 channels of audio straight into your DAW via your converters or as 16 additional FX sends or parallel feeds, the ASP4816 provides ultimate flexibility for the modern studio.
Accurate translation of your source. We asked signed singer songwriter Lizzy McAvoy to give a demo on recording drums using the ASP4816, which is at the heart of her studio in the musical hub of Nashville. Lizzy shows just how good a drum sound you can get using just the console's mic pres, EQ and compressor. Hear the results for yourself...
Refine your workflow. The consoles inline architecture allows you to start building your mix as you're tracking. By using the long and short faders you can create separate record and monitor balances on one channel strip, all while being able access the consoles splitable EQ and aux sends, perfect for getting it right from the start. Experience the classic large format console workflow in a smaller footprint and take your mixes to the next level.
No external power source required. ASP4816's clever design allows it to be plugged directly into the wall and has no need for a noisy external power source, allowing it to be installed quickly into any studio and making the ASP4816 one of the most efficient small format recording consoles on the market.
The large format sound in a small footprint. After years of listening to what our customers want in a small format recording console and through clever circuit board design the ASP4816 provides you with the versatility and sound of a large format recording console but in a small and affordable package. Making it the perfect analogue console solution for even the smallest of studios.
